Discover Gaza's Sahab Museum: The Museum of the Future

At the heart of Mohamed Bourouissa's solo exhibition lies the Sahab Museum, Gaza's museum of the future. Founded in 2021 by the innovative hawaf collective ("edges" in Arabic), this groundbreaking initiative includes four founding members: Mohamed Abusal, a visual artist based in Gaza; Mohamed Bourouissa, a visual artist based in Gennevilliers; Sondos El-Nakhala, an architect based in Gaza; and Salman Nawati, a visual artist based in Sweden.

Initially collaborating remotely through Zoom in 2021, the hawaf collective had its first in-person meeting during a joint residency at the Cité des Arts in Paris in the spring of 2022. The collective expanded in 2022 to include new members: Andrès Burbano, a developer, and Marion Slitine, an anthropologist, researcher, and curator.

The ARVIMM team is thrilled to conclude its seminar by giving the floor to the members of hawaf, exploring their unique approach to institutionalization as a virtual space for art and ideas. Utilizing virtual reality technologies, the Sahab Museum enables visitors from Palestine and around the world to immerse themselves in a borderless art experience.
