Post-doctoral research and teaching position
Chair of the History of Architecture and Monument Preservation, Institute of Art History, University of Bern

Post-doctoral research and teaching position (80–100%, non tenure-track) available at the Institute of Art History, University of Bern, starting 1 September 2023 (or as agreed) for two years (with an option for extension). Specialization should be in the field of the history and theory of architecture, or preservation, or urban heritage (Europe or other regions, e.g. Southern/Eastern Europe, Latin America, MENA region) from the Middle Ages to the Contemporary Period, preferably in a field complementing the research activities and teaching of the Chair of the History of Architecture and Preservation. The successful candidate will carry out independent research in her or his chosen field, teach (under)graduate courses and support the Chair’s teaching, research and administrative tasks.
We are looking for a candidate with an outstanding academic profile who is either about to complete his*her doctorate or already has an excellent doctorate with a focus on the history of architecture. The person should have a strong interest in developing a post-doctoral research project within the field of history of architecture and preservation. Application deadline is 15 June 2023.
